T-Mobile Releases Android 9 Pie For Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9+

T-Mobile was the last major carrier in the United States to not release the Android 9 Pie update for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ over the past couple of weeks. Magenta has now rectified that. It’s rolling out the latest Android OS update for the aforementioned devices over-the-air, ending the wait for users at last.

T-Mobile is rolling out baseband version numbers G960USQU3CSAB and G965USQU3CSAB for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ respectively. The update will weigh in at around 1.9GB for those who are on Oreo. It will be smaller for users running the beta Pie firmware on their handsets. The United States was one of the few markets where Samsung offered the Android Pie beta.

All of the features that are part and parcel of Android 9 Pie are included in this update. Samsung’s new One UI design language happens to be onboard as well. Perhaps T-Mobile can justify the additional wait for its users with the addition of RCS Universal Profile 1.0. This wasn’t surprising as T-Mobile has recently been adding RCS support for many of Samsung’s handsets.

The carrier is rolling out the software update for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ now. Those who haven’t already received an update notification need not worry, it won’t be long before they do.
